You could allow vIdeo embeds from YouTube and photo slideshows. That would make up for the loss of vIdeo and photo.

I though anyone can embed from YouTube. So why is it such a big deal to block their content?

For those of you unaware of how Imeem appears to the rest of the world (non Americans) we have zero content. No photo or videos (obviously) but now no songs at all. They have all been reduced to 30 seconds.

I don’t like to whine about a problem that Imeem can not avoid, but with the abundance of American users it could easily be swept under the rug.

I don’t know about your videos, but your pictures are still accessible if you need to retrieve them. I just discovered that if I right-click on a photo thumbnail and select Properties, I can then copy the thumbnail link and paste it into the address bar of a new window. It looks something like this:

http://srv0204-03.sjc3.imeem.com/g/p/a251096cc5379c74b0cad672c7b7dd04_thumb.jpg

Now, edit the link by deleting the “_thumb” at the end, and you will have the address of the original full-size photo.

I use Firefox, I don’t know if this will work with IE.

(sigh) i miss my old imeem…
listening my best friends song while looking their photos…really miss that time
that’s how the way users express their personality, and I love it so much.
now… i get lazy to open my imeem.
miss my best friends photos…
VIP badge no longer proud for me.

aaawww…:( felt so bad today that the years that we’ve spent uploading my son’s videos since he was a baby up to now has all been erased it really feels so bad that we even promoted this site to many of our friends and families to encourage them make an account here at imeem as this is the only way to share them not only music but our family videos and be able to connect to them. Too sad to know that the effort of uploading those special memories through videos just to get in touch with our families from different places were all erased just as easy as that…We loved imeem that we’ve chosen this aside from other sites but we just hope that there have been a way for you guys to save our videos which means as important as our life to us. silly to say but those videos are so precious to us that we even made a website to link people to go to imeem to view them.
Like others have said, the announcement about the changes was kinda weak that we just knew about it from an email from concerned friends, who we just met here at imeem. Personally it could have been ok just to stop the users from uploading more vids and pix but NOT TO ERASE OUR VIDEOS Our family is just so disappointed and sad right now. now we have to go through our archives to search for those old videos and file them all up again..upload em up again..wherever place possible.

I am having MAJOR problems with Playlists and van’t even figure out how to contact anyone! I have been a member since the early stages. my playlists save, then when I go to listen, all of the work I just did is gone! Every time! What the heck? Please help me

Honestly, imeem looks a bit boring now. I find it would be easier if the user-generated videos and pics were just hidden, and we could share them with our friends via imeem mail, but it’s too late now… =/

I cannot leave because of my friends in imeem. We got lovely groups we enjoy together. Tho imeem became a place for graphi designers to hang out together. Pathetic isn’t it ?
Thanks we are still able to change our themes, and profile picture.
Even tho i still think that limit for photos [like 5-10 per user] wud be more helpful and compromising for everyone ^_^

So far, i thank myself for not uploading any videos and i got all my personal pictures in my pc still.
OH and bTW thanks for VIP subscription. Why all of sudden i wonder?.. Cheers~and have a nice day

People as in myslef share the pictures because it stats alot about the person, not just the music.
