Hey guys. So, I'm pretty new to imeem, I'm big on music apps for the iPhone so when yours came out, I registered a new account and downloaded the app on the first day.

Great stuff, the program is really well-polished, and to me it's way superior to the Last.FM app. For me, the "MyMusic" feature is really really great and it almost made me want to sign up for the big Pro account right away, just so I could listen to all my music on the go and not have to use any storage (I have the tiny 4GB iPhone).

For me, the only problem is...again, I have the small phone, which is EDGE only. I find that your streams are simply too bandwith heavy, and there's no hope for easy listening while not in range of a WiFi router for me and users like me.

Your buffer feature is great, I love that it will already buffer the next song in a playlist once the current song finishes loading. A way I can use your service on the go is to let it "load" for a really long time (like, 20 minutes), by then, like three songs have fully loaded, and it's pretty cool. But obviously, this isn't too usable, for instance I don't always have the ability or foresight to let it load for 20 minutes beforehand, and also, if I end up wanting to skip a song, all bets are off.

It would be incredibly helpful if you offered some sort of "low-birtrate" streaming option for those of us on slower mobile connections. For instance, I usually listen to streaming radio stations at 24-32kbps AAC+ encoding, and I have no problem listening to tracks quickly, and the AAC+ sounds really good even at such a low bitrate.

I don't know if something like this would be feasible, I know last.fm attempted to update thier app with a "low-bitrate" option but so far it hasn't been approved. To be honest, I'd rather see it on your app, since like I said, it is a lot more fully featured, and it has the My Music option.

Basically, it'd be great if the app detected what type of data signal it had at startup--cellular (maybe even a distinction between 3G and EDGE if this is even possible) or Wifi (I know this distinction is possible, apps like FStream do it fine). Based on what connection you have, it uses the low-bandwith and low-bitrate stream or the normal, higher-bitrate stream.

I know it's probably an odd request, but I can tell you I would immediately drop the $100/year and upload my music if I truly were able to quickly play it wherever I was at. So, there's at least one potential customer from such a change :)

Thanks guys, and like I said, it is an incredibly solid app all around, even without the lower bitrate stream options! Great job.
